I just read that Frank is selling MyIDE 'copycats' on the ABBUC-forum and internet.

I'm happy for the extra demand, but are not happy that he sells without consulting me!

MyIDE (home-brew units) is for personal use only and you need a license from me to sell them.
I own all the rights of this IDE-product and resulting software/drivers.

Please support the MyIDE-community and do not buy these un-licensed copies!

That's a mistake. This Interface was not a production of ABBUC. It is compatible to MyIDE, but not "copycat".

Damit kein falscher Eindruck entsteht: Das angebotene, rein interne, Interface war kein Angebot des ABBUC. Zwar kompatibel zum MyIde, aber kein Clone oder Raupkopie !

My personal view:

Sijmen post was right, not a mistake. Sijmen didn't say that the Interface was an ABBUC Production, but it was shown here in the forum. I'm sure Frank wasn't informed about the status of MyIDE, so it was his mistake posting it here in a way that could be interpreted that he plans to sell the interfaces (that was my perception).

I don't believe, without getting more background information, that Franks internal Interface is compatible to MyIDE, but no "copycat". It would be very helpful if Frank can explain from his point of view here in the Forum.

This kinds of issues should be handled in an open and constructive manner in the community.

Nunja. Das Thema hätte auch längst erledigt sein können. Der Thread wurde gelöscht. (Aber auch nur um hier keinen Streit vom Zaun zu brechen) Einen neuen Thread deswegen zu öffnen (obwohl ich beide darüber informiert hatte) war absolut überflüssig und besitzt keinerlei recherchierte Informationen. Die Überschrift: ein Provokation. Und es zeigt auch, dass kompatible Geräte nicht gern gesehen sind. Auch dann nicht wenn es sich um Prototypen handelt.

Muss ich demnächst noch fragen ob ich Bilder von irgendwelcher Hardware veröffentlichen darf?

Verwendete nicht auch die KMK-, MSC-IDE gleiche Bauteile?

Nein. Und ich denke, hier muß man schon etwas genauer differenzieren:

Das Foto hat in der Tat wie ein 1:1 Nachbau des MyIDE Interfaces ausgesehen (OK, vielleicht mit etwas anderem Layout, aber im Prinzip das selbe Interface). Die Hardware ist wirklich sehr einfach, der Hauptteil der Arbeit/Logik liegt in der Software.

Hier kann ich Sijmen dann auch recht gut verstehen: Die Software zu entwickeln kostet viel Zeit, alle Informationen und Software sind frei im Netz erhältlich (für den privaten Gebrauch). Wenn Sijmen also durch den Verkauf von fertigen MyIDE Interfaces ein paar Euro verdient, ist das IMHO durchaus in Ordnung. Irgendwie muß man seine Hobbies schließlich auch finanzieren.

This post is made when the original was deleted, just to keep
ABBUC-members aware, that I do not agree with 'copycats'!

My point is, that I have 2 licensed sources to buy MyIDE from.
One license for MyIDE in a cartridge, one for internal use.
To them it's not fair that somebody out of the blue makes a
anouncement that he is going to sell without consulting me.
There hardware is also different from the original design, but
that is not the point. Hias got the point just right!

I have send a Email to Frank and Andreas with a proposal, but have not received a personal reply yet.

To post something to SELL a MyIDE-compatible interface is not allowed.
