Stereo Pokey Gumby

Stereo Pokey Gumby

Hallo,
ich kann die drei OUT-Anschlüsse im Schaltplan des Gumby nicht eindeutig zuordnen. Ich habe sie deshalb farblich markiert. Wie ist es richtig?

Bild

L = blau
R = grün
Gnd = gelb

oder:

L = blau
R = gelb
Gnd = grün

oder:

L = grün
R = gelb
Gnd = blau

Mathy

Hello Andreas,

Mathy is correct, from left side it is Left channel(blue), Ground(green), Right channel(yellow).

then i have another problem. The CPU, ANTIC and GTIA goes hot. the Atari hangs often. Soldering seems to be correct. Bobik, do you have an idea?

Hi,

the temperature of those chips is OK, this is typical behaviour even on systems which are running fine. I think you have to check address and data busses soldering again. Check also good soldering at Atari PCB.

You are not explain how yours Atari hangs (for example - in which phase of booting). For make sure you can try to run your Atari without board to check if it is running correctly (you'll not have keyboard and SIO support - use some cartridge or SELFTEST to test it). The last thing is what about change POKEYs? Will it hangs with the old original one in MONO mode only?

I'm sorry I can't help you more without any additional informations, but it must work, because it was invented for easy build-in.

Bye,
Bob!k/c.p.u.

OK, in English this time. :lol:

To check the CPU, I always wrote a small program.
10 for X=0 to 10000:?X;" Atari":next X
When this program runs, I take a hairdryer and blow on the CPU.
If it keeps running, all is OK.
You should be able to (just) touch the CPU.
Failure makes the computer hang and mostly also give a pink screen. :oops:
