The integrated highspeed SIO routine of MyPicoDos doesn't work well with emulators (most of them emulate SIO only at a very basic level and don't care, for example, about the transmission speed - this causes the highspeed detection code to fail).

But, there's a simple solution:

In MyPicoDos press 'H' to disable highspeed SIO and then press '1' to read drive 1 again. Now you should see the files on the disk.

Yes indeed, this time it is "normal", since space was a very limited resource because of huge amount of information and programs sent in for the yearly contest. Therefore it was not possible to have the common menu with it, which starts the intro automatically.

The intro is there, of course, and will be started from MyPicoDOS menu after your selection.
