MultiCLK v3.0 for Atari XL/XE or ST(e)

Some of you have seen this topic on other forums but it may be worth presenting the topic here as well...

I found it possible to significantly reduce the size of the PCB and get rid of several components that are not necessary for the MultiCLK to start and operate. The board size was halved and components such as the voltage regulator, quartz and several discrete components were removed. I also changed the microcontroller to a smaller one (8 pins)...

Hello pancio

The GND closest to C2 doesn't seem to be connected to anything. Is that/it necessary? If not the PCB could be even smaller.

Sincerely

Hi,

It's connected with purple Module GND - last pin on the right bottom... Of course - it might be smaller but it's the same size as clock module (purple PCB), so I've more place for my elements :-)

I used this module for Atari 1200XL which I changed from NTSC to PAL... work's very well. I can imagine that according to PAL burst signal need to be switched in phase with Atari clock - to avoid color drift - probably that case shall be solved witch additional elements but I haven't had such a case yet.

Additionally, the Si5351 design allows the use of both the PAL subcarrier frequency and the Atari clock frequency generated from the basic 4xPAL. This is the theory, and in practice we will check if such a case occurs :-)

BR,
