Sikor's neu Hardware: SuperSIO Splitter

Hallo Leute

So, i look here sometimes. I add answer in Polish (sorry, I don't know German), maybe this is better than google translate:
==============================POLISH TEXT========================================
Witam!
wile do życzenia...):
wykonaniu obudów do cartridge-y) o możliwość wykonania obudowy z formy
Postanowiłem wyjść naprzeciw oczekiwaniom i wykonać uniwersalną
obudowę, a jednocześnie zapobiec bolączce "ostatniego w
łańcuchu" urządzenia i stworzyć uniwersalny splitter. Założenia
sobie spisałem i poprosiłem odpowiednią osobę o zaprojektowanie płytki
do SIO Splittera. Nazwałem projekt "SuperSIO Splitter". A
dlaczego tak? Bo postanowiłem wykorzystać funkcjonalność splittera i
stworzyć miejsce w obudowie na dowolne urządzenie SIO wpinane w gniazdo
rozszerzeń (wewnętrzne SIO). Według założeń - urządzenie jest
wewnętrzne, a obudowa będzie miała wymienny panel przedni do różnych
We
wskazanym wątku na atariage omówiłem ostateczną funkcjonalność, i
tak:
Gniazda zewnętrzne:

- 3 gniazda SIO (jedno „gorące” do zewnętrznego zasilania)

- 2 męskie IDC12 (zamiennik SIO), jeden gorący jak wyżej

- 1 USB typu B (dla SIO2PC, jeśli ktoś go podłączy), z 4 pinami do

- jedno gniazdo jack (prawdopodobnie) do zewnętrznego zasilania (jeśli
będzie to konieczne dla jakiś urządzeń SIO)

- jeden 5-pozycyjny DIPSWITCH (SW1 do włączania/wyłączania
zewnętrznego zasilania, 4 do użytku wewnętrznego z pinami do urządzenia
wewnętrznego na płycie głównej SuperSIO Splittera)

Gniazda wewnętrzne:

- 12 pinów SIO do płytki z urządzeniami SIO (2x6 pinów)

- 30-pinowy pin-header (2x15) do wstępnej konfiguracji SIODEVICE i
przekazywania sygnału do panelu przedniego (opcjonalnie - do wykorzystaia

go dostosować do własnych potrzeb) będzie montowana bezpośrednio na
główną a panelem przednim by było optymalne według Was(zakres max
1-2cm)?

Hello! From this page Sikor, courtesy of Montezuma, will explain
briefly what I mean (unfortunately, as Mathy recalls, my English has
much to wish for...):
The SuperSIO Splitter is the idea of an injection mould housing that will be
universal for SIO devices. Because many people asked me (after
making casings for cartridges) o possibility of making casings from a mould
Injectionion Molding Machine for SIO2SD, FujiNET, other SIO - the answer is: it is for
expensive to make such an enclosure for one device. But the questions
they didn't stop.
I decided to meet the expectations and make a universal
housing, while at the same time preventing the pain of the "last in
chain" device and create a universal splitter. Assumptions
I wrote down and asked the right person to design the tiles
to SIO Splitter. I called the project "SuperSIO Splitter". A
Why? Because I decided to use splitter functionality and
create space in the housing for any SIO device plugged into the socket
extensions (internal SIO). According to the assumptions - the device is
internal, and the housing will have a replaceable front panel for different
The design is to provide the best possible functionality. At
indicated thread on atariage I discussed the final functionality, and
Yes:
External sockets:

- 3 SIO sockets (one "hot" for external power supply)

- 2 male IDC12 (SIO replacement), one hot as above

- 1 USB type B (for SIO2PC, if you connect it), with 4 pins to
connections inside (you can also make a bridge through them, for example
for Arduino programming/power supply via USB)

- one jack socket (probably) for external power supply (if
it will be necessary for some SIO devices)

- one 5-position DIPSWITCH (SW1 for switch on/off
external power supply, 4 for internal use with device pins
internal on a SuperSIO Splitter motherboard)

Internal sockets:

- 12 SIO pins for SIO device board (2x6 pins)

- 30-pin pin-header (2x15) for initial configuration of SIODEVICE and
transmit the signal to the front panel (optional - to use
by the SIO device designer)

- 40-pin connector (2x20) for front panel devices (e.g. LCD with
switches, LEDs, centronics interface if someone wants to ...)

- 8-pin connector (2x4) for LEDs (4 are reserved for the signal
external SIO power supply and SIO power signal for devices
(internal)

I haven't decided yet whether the tile for the front panel (removable, you can
It will be adapted to your own needs) will be mounted directly on the
pins, will we leave some space at the front so that we can better
to make room for it. What do you prefer?
I decided to add two front panels to my devices along with
device. Maybe they will also be available for additional ones? How would I
he decided to connect with tape - how much space between the plates
The main panel and the front panel would be optimal according to you (max range
1-2cm)?
Please write your suggestions in the appropriate thread on atariage or here -
I follow your answers with a google trans

Sorry for google translate again. I put here copy my post from atariage.com:
Ok, I have SUPER SIO SPLITTER tiles for constructors - if they are willing. So far, there is no housing, which is currently being drawn.
Now yes - the boards are in revision 1.0, the construction will not change anymore. There will also be a batch of boards in the 1.0A revision - improved ground area under one connector, change in the size of the holes for the SIO (slightly larger), change in the size of the holes for the power socket (slightly smaller).

I will be able to send the PCB (for registration) after April 10 - I have to refine the documentation. This is a very short series (25PCB), revision 1.0A will also be short (25pcs too). Therefore, I am introducing a limit of a maximum of two pieces per person (I can send a collective package to reduce costs), basically these tiles will be sold at absolute cost - but with the possibility of issuing a Polish VAT invoice. The order of entries decides about the possible purchase, and I intend to sell the developer versions (those in the pictures) in two options:
1. PCB + 3xSIO, without other elements: PLN 60 or USD 15 or 12EU
2. PCB plus all elements (except POWER SWITCH, which is optional): PLN 75 or USD 18.75 or 15 EU
The prices listed do not include the cost of the courier, priced individually (in Poland, delivery via InPOST, in Europe, delivery by post).

Now the formal issue: I assume that device designers can use the soldering iron, hence the shipment as a kit for self-assembly. The PCB will be sent as OEM for now, i.e. only a box, components (of your choice), a diagram and a registration card for developers - this should be sent back to me by post, so that after producing the enclosures, I can enjoy a new enclosure for my own set (I expect the end of this year). All registered designers will receive the housing and full printed manual at absolute cost.

What do I expect in return? As this is a promotion, I hope to:
- performance of reliable tests
- development of new devices in the standard offered by PCB
- unapproach the device on the forum;)
If anyone would be interested - please write to the e-mail (please process it properly): biuro at sikorsoft dot waw point pl in the subject, write "Super SIO Dev Board" and specify the quantity (1 or 2) and the selected option (1 or 2). The order in which the e-mail is received is decisive.
