Is there a newer / later version of the MidiCar player (MCP) in the meanwhile ? Maybe one that works under MyDOS ? If so, where can I find it ? (And if on github, then please state exactly where, e.g. a direct download link, since I never find anything at github or sourceforge.)

The link to the latest atr file was provided here:

On the Github, you will find slightly older "released" 1.6a version:

However it has to be "bundled" with the driver and drivers can be downloaded from the version v1.5.8a

If this is still confusing to you, just can just download the attached file, where I already "bundled" the latest player (dev-140923) with:
- driver for MIDICar (MPCARDEV.COM)
- driver for MIDI Mate (MPSIODEV.COM)
